Chronic Classic

The other day, something compelled me to purchase Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001. I've been enjoying this album for years now via my burned copy but I thought I owed Dr. Dre 15 dollars for producing such an incredible record. This album didn't just come out, single on MTV, gain momentum and eventually make the top of the charts. Chronic 2001 exploded the day it was released - it was an instant classic. Dre's beats are superb on 2001, knocking out any previous work he had done, even the original Chronic. On this album, Dr. Dre really shows his incredible talents as a producer and also as a rap artist. Produced with the help of Mel Man, Dr. Dre demanded the attention of N.W.A. fans and others who had no idea who he was. This album served to remind the public that Dr. Dre wasn't done producing, and he wasn't done rapping. The guest artists featured on this album only helped to blow the album higher. Chronic 2001 features Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Hitman, and others. The tracks range from the hardcore gansta rap reminiscent of the early 1990's to Dre's heartfelt track about the loss of his brother. This is an incredible album and I could reccomend it to anyone who...well anyone. There is something in the Chronic 2001 for everyone...unless you are offended easily or have a weak stomach. Run out and buy it!

The Bike Hunt

The Bike Hunt is on! I am looking for a bike these days. One of these would be nice but I might have to settle for something a little less...extravagent? I don't know. These are beautiful though. And parking on campus would be beautiful too! Oh, my god. I could park at the building my class is held. Incredible notion. Anyway, hopefully I'll be crusin' ron on one of these pretty soon. Pretty fast.

Check this out! It's just so...beautiful.

NMS-Me?

Wow! I just started NMSU this week, and it is big. Big in the sense of largeness not in the hugeness...uh...well it's just big. Its cool though...but not as cool as I thought. I guess it made it out to be some special elite club in my mind but school is just school no matter what. When you go, you find out that class is just class and there's not really too much difference...except I guess if you have interest in or enjoy the classes you take but that's more likely to happen in 3rd or 4th years. Right now, I just feel like I'm in a bigger school...I mean I am in a bigger school but...whatever - the point is, school is just school. GO AGGIES!

Did you get the Memo?

This is my life. If you've ever watched Office Space, you know what my job is like. I'm so depressed with walking down empty halls daydreaming of sitting on my couch. Who dreams of sitting on their couch? If you've ever worked a boring, reduntant job, then you probably have. I don't know how many times I've caught myself daydreaming for 15 minutes or more...AND NOBODY NOTICES!! Shouldn't I get in trouble for that? I guess I'm really not valuable enough to worry about...a fact that scares me a little. Sometimes I don't do any actual work all day. I would say in a given week, I only work about...5 hours total. That's out of 40!

Here I am at work...doing nothing, as always. I really don't do anything except type letters and answer the phone. AND YES, I GOT THE MEMO!! I guess I shouldn't be complaining...I still get paid, and I guess that's what this whole job thing is about...money. But all you hard workers out there don't know how hard it is to do nothing all day.

San Andreas - The Legacy

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is almost upon us! On October 19, the game will be unleashed on millions of eager GTA fanatics such as myself. This game is the 5th in an incredible open-ended action RPG series that has created super controversy since its debut. I do not believe this game will fail to impress. I have been waiting (very patiently) for this game since...I don't even know when. If you've never played a game in the GTA series, you are missing out. If you appreciate any game with as much thought and detail as GTA: VC, I suggest buying San Andreas as soon as it comes out, I know I will.

Another upcoming game worth checking out is Halo 2. There are Halo fanatics out there foaming at the mouth too, so read Sean's post at The Jungle to find out more!

Juggalos Unite!

For all the Juggalos out there (and even if you're not one) I just want to promote the release of the Almighty...SIXTH JOKERS CARD. Insane Clown Posse will release The Wraith: Hell's Pit on August 31! If you've ever wondered when the greatest album in the history of music will be coming out...get your cash ready. Hell's pit is said to be more than a music album...it will be an experience. Your life will be changed by this disc...or so it is said. I know all the juggalos will be picking this one up, but if you're not a fan, open your mind on the 31 - you won't be disappointed!

Just a little something...

This is just a little something I wrote:

Time is leaving me behind.
Don't worry, I'm not making another cliche,
It's just that I'm getting old and time is slow...
Or is it the other way around?
Yesterday was so far away from where we are.
I can't explain any of this.

There is no hope in her,
only the noise she makes.
She has no consideration in her,
only the time she takes.
Nobody can tell her anything,
except that she's the only one.
Nobody can give her anything,
because giving back can't be any fun.
Not to her at least,
with her mirrors everywhere.
She could look at me at least,
but she won't attempt to share.

Surfer's Delight

Here's another cool website for you bored-ass surfers out there - check it out, it's a lot of fun (needs an update though) Emotion Eric. It's just this guy, emoting. Sounds boring but really engrossing. I spent 2 hours at this site looking at all the pictures. Maybe I'm just crazy...or really bored. Or both. Oh and also check out Seize the Night at it's kinda morbid, but really interesting. It's a facinating website about serial killers and other cool stuff like that. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

CD's This week

The review for this week's CDs is here! The CD's purchased this week are: Lil Rob - Neighborhood Music, Eve 6, and ABK - Dirty History. My first purchase this week, Lil Rob was not inspired by the radio or ads anywhere, it was actually low on my CD priority list but this is how it happened: I went to Hastings to try and find Eve 6's first album, self-titled I believe, and failed. I had a Hastings gift card so I had to purchase something at the store. I searched for another CD I had been looking for and was disappointed to find that it too, was out of stock. At this point I was thoroughly dissatisfied with Hastings so I picked up Neighborhood Music on my way out. I was not expecting to be impressed with this selection but what came out was something that I had only heard in groups like Delinquent Habits - Spanish Rap. I love it because it mixes the traditional "hood love" "gangsta flava" with the mexican culture. With english and spanish lyrics, Lil Rob shows another side of Rap that doesn't live in New York, Los Angeles, or Detroit. Somewhere in the first song, he mentions growing up in San Diego, which might be a place that most people associate with low crime and surfing. Lil Rob shows us the other side of San Diego with his powerful metaphors. Overall this was a great buy, I would recommend this CD to anyone with an appreciation for talented lyricists and great beats.

The next CD I purchased was ABK(Anybody Killa)'s "Dirty History" I haven't listened to the whole CD yet but the beats are already great and ABK is back with his signature lisp and a whole wagonload of psychopathic artists collaborating. If you are an ICP, Twiztid or just a Psychopathic Records fan, you already know if you like ABK or not. I would recommend this CD, but as many of you know, I would probably recommend any Psychopathic Record artist purely by affiliation.

My last purchase of the week was Eve 6's Debut Album(the one with the fly on the cover) I actually owned this CD in the past and sold it, I have no idea why. Recently, I happened to hear a song off this album and recognized it to be their first single ever: Inside out. This prompted me to try to find the CD, but that turned out to be harder than I thought. I didn't know this CD was so rare here in town. I searched all the CD sellers in town and came up with nothing. When looking for a gift for a friend, I came across the CD and snagged up the last copy. Lucky me! Anyway, this CD is classic - Eve 6 before the corruption set in. All the songs are great, it's a "listen all the way through" CD. One of the better ones I now own. If you like Eve 6, I suggest this one, as it is their best album byfar.

Movie Time

Just to let you know, The Village, is a great watch if you have a chance to go to the plex this weekend. I saw it on...the other day sometime...Anyway, it was an incredible movie with so much thought...I was in awe. Critics say it wasn't very scary for a horror movie but I don't really think it was meant to be one...more suspense I think. Anyway, most movies have a twist toward the end - this one has two! Crazy...anyway I think M. Night is a genius and I loved this movie, so if you have a chance, I highly recommend it!

Done!

Done! Serious. I'm done moving out. It is such a relief! Moving out is a chore - no joke! It took me five days to finally unpack...but it's finally over. Some things you just don't think about when you move out. I never thought it would take this long to unpack, I never thought I had so much stuff. Another thing I spaced out was silverware. I opened a yogurt the other day to realize that we had no utensils. I had to drink it from the cup. Sucked. Anyway, overall the experience has been cool, I'm not really getting as much sleep as I used to at my mom's house because nobody cares how late I stay up but...it's worth it. I guess this is just the beginning though...more on my house later.
