We're all special...well...maybe not.

Everybody gotta check this one out. My buddy Lola be postin it up out there in the blogsphere all alone with almost no readers. Go check it out and see if you're special too!

Overkill?

I watched House of the Dead last night, and I am extremely disappointed. I actually purchased this DVD a couple of days ago with this justification: A zombie movie cannot, no matter how hokey or plotless, be boring or unwatchable. I WAS WRONG! House of the Dead is filled with overused cliches of cliches, horrible acting, and Matrix-style fight scenes that go for 20 minutes or more (these scenes don't even compare to the genius of the Matrix by the way). The worst part about this movie is the clips of the old SEGA game House of the Dead placed "strategically" fifty thousand places throughout the movie. I don't know how anybody thought this would help the movie, but it doesn't. Maybe SEGA forced them to use game clips as part of the license agreement. All I know is that they make this movie fall short of "Horror", which is, what I assume they were going for. Blair Witch was scarier than this movie, and they didn't even show the witches! Showing the zombies in this movie may have been a mistake anyway. These zombies looked like they bought Halloween costumes and had their moms do their makeup. It was horrible. So unbelievable that it was distracting. There was no comparison to any new zombie movies such as the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Even Romero's Day of the Dead from 1985 was a better visual experience than this one. I am so disappointed in this movie. I really thought it was going to be great, and if you know me, or have read my previous reviews of movies or music, you know that it had to be really bad for me to write a negative review. I usually don't find too much wrong with movies. I don't think I have had anything negative to say about any movie on this blog until now. DO NOT rent this movie.

Black Balloons

Black balloons dont' even float
The heart in my chest carries no hope

I can't even see anything past my hands
I can't hear your voice over these screaming fans

Black balloons make them cry
They don't understand why this had to die

To be perfectly honest, I don't know either
I should understand; I was the last one to see her

Black balloons aren't filled with air
Just with my breath: pain and dispair

Sunday Nights Suck

Sunday nights suck a lot. It's Sunday night right now and I just realized that this Sunday is just like every other Sunday. It sucks. On Sunday nights there's usually homework, because I have put it off all day. The weekend's over. Tomorrow brings more work and school. No more fun for another five days. I just think Sunday nights should be...I don't know...removed. But then I guess Sunday afternoons would suck. It's just that the end of the weekend sucks. I'm almost depressed over this thing. I dread Sunday night. I know it will bring me down. Maybe I'll go to bed early so tomorrow will come faster. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Music dis Mumph

Yes, the music review is finally here! Music this month:

The Prodigy - Always outnumbered, Never Outgunned
I was so excited when I spotted this album on the shelf at Best Buy. I had no idea Prodigy was coming out with a new one, so I was completely suprised (and overjoyed) when I found out. It was just like Christmas. I immediately put down my other prospective purchases. I knew I was getting this one. I hadn't heard a new prodigy track since...well about '99 but they may have contributed a new song to one of the Matrix soundtracks in the mean time...anyway, the point is: This album is a long time coming. I loved their other albums. Fat of the Land was byfar thier greatest acheivement. Firestarter was a song everyone had in their heads for months after it came out. Breathe was my pump up song throughout high school. Smack My Bitch Up stirred controversy and publicity for the album...I loved the whole CD. Prodigy has been one of my favorites ever since then. The new album focuses on beats. Supurb beats all the way through. There is so much base in these tracks you can drink it. Always outnumbered, Never Outgunned also boasts at least six tracks featuring other artists such as: The Ping Pong Bitches, Kool Keith, Princess Superstar, and even Twista! This album makes you wanna...no, it gets you up and makes you dance. You really cannot resist The Prodigy. You can't not dance to this. It just makes you move. I really suggest anyone even THINKING about having a party, add at least one Prodigy track to their arsenal. This album is great overall, well worth the money. An incredible album by the group that I would expect no less from. GO BUY IT. I swear you'll love it.

Godsmack - The Other Side
Godsmack has never really been "one of my bands". I always liked them, but not really enough to buy their albums. When I heard the new Asleep track, I couldn't resist picking up this album. I have been unable to find this CD for quite some time now, so when I finally got it, I was relieved. This album has been compared, by many critics, to the Alice in Chains acoustic venture: Jar of Flies. I think that Godsmack can pull this acoustic off better than any band I have heard in a long time...even AIC. I know that's a big statement, but I believe it. Although the album is only about half an hour long, it still makes a solid impact on me everytime I listen to it. When I have a hard day at work or school and just want to chill, this is the album I throw on almost every time. This CD is all about mellow guitar, calm beats and Sully Erna's signature vocals. Even though this is a "chill out" album, Godsmack loses none of their hard rock roots. You can still hear the primal growl in Sully's voice when he sings Keep Away or Running Blind. All the tracks on this CD are supurb acoustic performances while keeping with the Godsmack sound that so many know and love. I have come to love this album and I know you will too. Try to pick it up if you can find it (it's usually cheaper because of the length) or download it if you have to. This is an essential for anyone who needs to take it easy once in a while.

G Love - The Hustle
The Hustle! I just got this one, so I don't have too much to say about it yet, but so far it sounds great! I've only listened to it a couple of times through but, from what I have heard, it blends guitar, harmonica, and solid vocals until its a blues smoothie of Love. If you like Jack Johnson, you need to check this guy out. G Love is currently signed to Brushfire Records - Jack Johnson's record label and even features Johnson on his album. Love plays with a band called "Special Sauce" but the band name is curiously not mentioned here. The band sounds great when paired with Love's bluesey toned voice. This guy sounds professional yet fun...I have yet to find something wrong with this album. More on G Love later.

Moore Show?

Check it out...what if everybody was a robot? No really. Well not a robot, but an actor and you were the only one who was real. Like in the Truman Show. That movie was really good but what if it was you...or me. I really think about that a lot. I know it's wierd to think about that but I think about that more that 3 times a week. What if I was famous and I didn't know it. Like when you think nobody's watching you but really millions of viewers are laughing when you dance around in your house, or when you sing in your car. Or when you pick your nose. I mean, thats why you have to try to look cool even when nobody's looking at you. That's what I do. I try to think out loud when I'm alone so the viewers will know my thoughts. I mean, it's just a thought. Just a "what if" you know. But just in case, I'm still gonna wear my sunglasses at night.

Mini Crisis

I think I'm having a mini-life crisis. One of those ones where you don't know where you're going or what you're doing with life. Why am I here? What's my purpose? What's my motivation? What do I have to look forward to? Life is redundant. The rut keeps getting bigger. I'm not posta feel like this now, especially not right after starting college and moving out and everything. I just can't find my drive. I must have lost it. Or it lost me. I can't find anything anymore. I'm lost in my own world. I don't know people I know...anymore. Who is it at my door? Nobody. Then who rang the doorbell. See how my mind does? Spiraling out of control. Worse and worse with every sentence. This is all in my mind. But some of it's real. The reason I couldn't sleep last night is real. Well, not anymore I guess. Sometimes I can't find myself even though I'm right here. I just spent half an hour staring at the wall and the whole time, I didn't want to do anything else. Now I'm wondering why I wasted my time...

New Music

Air guitar^

I love music. I can't even categorize myself anymore. I just love all music. I've heard something from every genre that has excited me, given me goosebumps, meant something to me...moved me. When an artist that I like comes out with a new release, I have to have it. I need to see how the artist has progressed or changed. I have to know what is different about them. I can't really explain it, but for those of you that feel the same way, here's a list of some upcoming music. Let me know if I missed anything important!

Green Day - American Idiot - 9/21/04
I've loved Green Day since Dookie, this one should be good!
Joss Stone - Mind, Body, and Soul - 9/28/04
A little known prodigy in my eyes, Joss Stone's debut was interesting with some great covers. This second set should prove her worth.
Cake - Pressure Chief - 10/5/04
A friend of mine loved Cake so much that everybody in our group had heard all their albums. I'm pretty familiar with the band now and I thought I would let everybody know there is more Cakage coming up.
Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget - 9/28/04
A lot of people despise this guy, but I can't resist a "best of" album. Let's see what he's good at!
Ben Harper - There Will Be a Light - 9/21/04
I love Ben Harper! The only slide guitartist I know of and he's great. I'm really looking forward to this one.
Chevelle - This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In) - 9/21/04
I liked Chevelle's first album but not enough to purchase it. I'm hoping they improved their style with this one.
The Used - Love and Death - 9/28/04
I think I know some people who will be interested in this one.
Good Charlotte - Chronicles of Life and Death - 10/5/04
A long time coming, this album will be released in two versions: The Life Art version and the Death Art version.
Fatboy Slim - Palookaville - 10/5/04
The "funk soul bruva" FINALLY puts out a new set next month. I've been waiting for this one for a while.
Jimmy Eat World - Futures - 10/19/04
I thoroughly enjoyed Bleed American but none of their other releases. I hope this one can change my mind about this band.

The Softer Side

Crossing the Bridge

I’ve lived one hell of a life,
If your to take it tonight,
I’ve lived the life of a king, but there's so much to darken my light
Looking 360 degrees, two hundred thousand diseases,
How can I lay back and chill, with so many down on their knees?
But then again who am I? I’m just some typical guy,
I ain’t no fuckin’ hero, I just been wondering why…

I seen some children
Crossing the bridge
What kind of life did they get to live?
What kind of choice do they get to make?
What if it was a child’s mistake?

I’ll never question the book, but let’s say I lived by the book,
I never ate meat on Tuesdays, how much bigger would my wings look?
I try to pray everyday, but sometimes get lost on the way,
I seen the holiest spirit, but so much to mislead the way
I gave the visions I got, I been told I’m gonna rot
Inside the devil’s intestines, but I’m still here holding my spot,
I’ve just been wondering why…

I seen some children
Crossing the bridge
What kind of life did they get to live?
What kind of choice do they get to make?
What if it was a child’s mistake?

BREAK DOWN:
COME ON AND OPEN UP YOUR DOOR/ WHAT IF IT’S PERGATORY'S DOOR
COME ON AND OPEN UP YOUR DOOR/ WHAT IF IT’S PERGATORY'S DOOR

I seen some children
Crossing the bridge
What kind of life did they get to live?
What kind of choice do they get to make?
What if it was a child’s mistake?
Fuckin’ take me instead! (repeats)

Confused

I couldn't see the moon last night no matter how hard I looked.
I felt like I would never see it again by the way you spoke to me.
If the red letters don't mean anything, I guess I'll just stop trying.
If they don't mean anything anymore I guess its all gone.

The Kottonmouth Kings are here to stay! I know this post is a little late, Fire It Up came out a couple months ago, but I just wanted to give those so-cal tokers some props because that album is the best yet. If you've never heard the King's vibes, then I strongly suggest you try them now. They are in their prime and I love it. You can throw this record on any time and just vibe because it has something for every mood you can be in. Incredible! Please, Oh, Please Check this one out!

Stress Relief

Check it out: I just got a punching bag by Everlast! I also got a speed bag and a stand to hold them both! I've needed these bags forEVER! You don't know how good it feels to punch the hell out of something until you do it. And with a punching bag, you can just wail on that muff until your knuckles bleed...unless you have some gloves like these (above). If I'm ever stressed out or pissed off, my bag will be there for me. I've thought about naming it but haven't come up with anything suitable yet. Until then I'll just say I'm out punching my bag. OH YEAH!

Check it out, you never know when you might need a Ramen Slam!

Bullpoo!

>

Bull Terrier

This is the dog I've been trying to tell everyone about! The Bull Terrier is so cool, I think it's the coolest dog...ever! Check this out:

"The Bull Terrier when properly trained tends to be friendly and have a good temperament. Known for his sense of humor he is an outgoing dog with a dominant nature who needs firm handling by his owner. A tenacious fighter, he is most often dog-aggressive and has a high prey drive towards small animals such as cats."

The End

I have reviewed and am thoroughly impressed with Hell's Pit, the most recent and final joker's card release by the Insane Clown Posse. Recently, it has been getting a lot of negative feedback as I witnessed on this site. The Insane Clown Posse had a vision more than 12 years ago, in Detroit, Michigan. This vision compelled them to create a story that spanned 12 years and ended on August 31, 2004. If you believe the story surrounding the vision, you know the Dark Carnival compelled ICP to make these albums, and if you don't, it makes no difference. Even if ICP is just a music group to you, you still must respect their determination to link 6 albums over the span of 12 years. They were never dissuaded from their original goal. Their message is good. ICP deserves respect for their completion of the legacy that so many have lived and waited for.
